Trio Toronto, a Toronto-based jazz group, is dedicated to the performance, perpetuation, and promotion of live music.

Biography - Bruce Philp

Experience has no substitute

Bruce Philp is a veteran of the Toronto music industry. A former member of the Glenn Miller Orchestra under Buddy DeFranco, he has worked in a wide variety of musical situations, including twelve years with the Howard Cable Orchestra at the Royal York Hotel’s legendary Imperial Room, accompanying such artists as Rita Moreno, Chita Rivera, Peggy Lee, Eartha Kitt, and many more. Also, shows with Red Skelton, Perry Como, Anne Murray; performances with the Minneapolis Symphony, the Buffalo Philharmonic, and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra; major stage musicals include “Brigadoon”, “The King and I”, “Oklahoma”, “Grease”, and other productions.

Bruce is a lover of the great American songbook repertoire. He hopes you are, too!
